How to improve the company conference

Many companies do what they've always done with conferences. They resist change and stay with the same old format. Whilst safe and reliable events... they're also quickly forgotten.

Some companies go too far the other way, dreaming up conferences with wacky themes and bazzar activities, often in very unusual venues. Whilst different... they're also remembered for all the wrong reasons.

So perhaps the best tip to 'improve the company conference' is to put aside previous formula... and turn the whole thing on its head.

For example, start at the 'end' looking at what will be remembered from the day, how delegates will feel and what they'll want to go away and do differently. Then, develop the conference storyboard, the 'middle bit', that glues your presenters' messages together. And then finish with the 'start' for an idea that is relevant, wanted and preferred by your audience.

Ultimately, you need to be open minded.
